From an early age, LuWanna knew she wanted to make peoples’ lives better. She graduated from Florida State University, married her high school sweetheart Bob Ratliff and moved to Jacksonville. She has worked in various nursing roles including quality assurance, employee health, safety, hospice and education.
In 1989 she transitioned her career to Human Resources in the health care industry, becoming certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources in 1997. She has volunteered as a member of the University of North Florida‘s Health Institute Steering Committee and the Jacksonville Job Corps Business Advisory Council. She has served for four years as a Regional Human Resources Manager and for two years as a Regional Trainer for ten skilled nursing centers in various Southeast states.
She began teaching for Florida Training Resources in 2008. She is approved to present non-technical courses on topics such as human resources, leadership, safety, time management and worker’s compensation. Her teaching philosophy is “life is a learning experience” while applying the principles of adult learning.
